The New Hampshire Cultural Diversity Awareness Council, a not-for-profit volunteer organization,  was founded in October 2000 by Wayne Jennings. Originally formed as "The New Hampshire Cultural Diversity Advisory Group", the idea for establishing a state wide cultural diversity organization was conceived after it was discovered that there is a need for an organization that promotes an appreciation, understanding and acceptance of the people who comprise the various racial and ethnic groups of our state. A chief purpose is also to maintain the significance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Thanks to the continued support of some dedicated individuals, organizations, and businesses, NHCDAC has achieved great accomplishments such as our annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 'Keeping the Dream Alive' dinner, our annual diversity Youth Workshop held at Waterville Valley Ski Resort, and our involvement in diversity awareness for the business community.
NHCDAC's mission is to increase awareness of the need for communication, understanding and respect among people of ethnically and racially diverse backgrounds. Through community events, educational programs and alliances with corporations, educational institutions, government agencies and non-profit organizations, NHCDAC addresses the important issues of multiculturalism facing our nation today.
